GENERAL RULES
This space is strictly 18+
You must be 18 years or older to use this platform. By registering an account on this forum, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.
Consequences of violating this rule:
- Immediate ban.
- Permanent deletion of all your characters and in-game progress.
- This applies even if you have since turned 18 - joining while underage is a permanent violation.
No exceptions will be made.
No illegal content
Do not share, discuss, or link to illegal content. Illegal content includes, but is not limited to: child sexual abuse material (CSAM), non-consensual intimate imagery, instructions for illegal activities, etc. This applies everywhere - public channels, private channels, nsfw channels, and DMs. Violations will result in immediate permanent ban and reporting to authorities if applicable.
Treat others with respect
Be civil. Do not insult, harass or threaten people, or expose private/personal information.
Agree to disagree – we’re all adults here. Do not go to war with people over perceived wrongthink.
Don’t bring outside drama into the group. If you have a personal problem with another member, please take it to DMs and handle it like adults.
Keep conversations light and on-topic
This is a creative hobby space, not a support group. We’re here to have fun with art and roleplay, not comiserate over the state of the world.
What’s welcome:
- Casual day-to-day complaints (“work was rough today”).
- Brief life updates (“I’ll be busy this week, less active”).
- Sharing good news and celebrations.
What’s not appropriate:
- Venting about serious personal problems.
- Trauma-dumping or seeking therapeutic support.
- Asking for medical, legal, or life advice.
- In-depth discussion of mental health struggles.
- Political debates and arguments.
If you need support: Please reach out to friends privately, or seek appropriate resources. We care about you, but this isn’t the right space to process serious struggles.
Keep it tidy
Do not spam messages, emojis, and avoid walls of all-caps.
Do not post if you have nothing to say. If you simply want to signal your agreement with a post, use emoji reactions instead of replying with a simple “+1” of “agree”.
Do not randomly advertise other groups, servers, commissions, or social media outside of your profile.
Keep discussions to the relevant categories and topics. Try not to derail topics. If a discussion strays too far from a topic’s intended purpose, simply make a new one.
Avoid double posting (posting twice or more in a row in the same topic). If you forgot to say something, simply edit your previous post. It is common forum etiquette to preface post updates with “Edit:”.
Moderator word is final

Moderators reserve the right to remove any content and any user account for any reason at any time. Moderators do not preview new posts; the moderators and site operators take no responsibility for any content posted by the community.
Do not argue with the mods. This includes arguing about art categorisation ratings. If you disagree with a moderation decision, please contact a moderator privately, and we will be more than happy to examine the situation again.
Do not minimod, do not feed trolls. If you see a problem, flag it. If there’s a critical or urgent issue that can’t be handled by a meta topic or flag, contact the moderators.
Site is SFW
Keep NSFW content strictly to the NSFW category.
NSFW includes: gore, heavy body horror, nudity, sexual content
NSFW category [is not yet set up] Once in, familiarize yourself with the nsfw-specific rules before posting.
Allowed in regular channels:
- Minor injuries (scrapes, bruises, healed scars, small amounts of blood).
- Doll nudity, bare male chests.
- Light body horror (extra eyes/mouths/limbs).
When in doubt: Ask a mod or post in NSFW channels to be safe.
GAME RULES
Read the guides before asking questions
Gameplay mechanics are explained in the Guides - please read them thoroughly before asking questions, chances are the answers you seek are already in there!
If you’ve read the guides and still need help: make a new topic in the help desk. Let us know what was unclear so we can improve the documentation.
Suggestions go in here.
USD sales of in-game items
You are not allowed to sell in-game items or unreffed pokémon for real-life money. Everything in Eclipse is free-to-earn with in-game currency, and therefore in-game items have no real-world value.
You can sell: reffed pokémon, designs and art – because the art itself has value.
Characters
You can adapt existing OCs/make AU versions for Eclipse. Just make sure you have permission from the designer if they’re not you.
Character-based characters (CBCs) are allowed within reason, as long as they are not carbon copies of the original, and merely inspired by them.
Imports from other games
You cannot directly transfer pokémon or items from other ARPGs into Eclipse. You can, however, reuse designs you fully own (made or bought).
For example, if you own a fire-type bulbasaur you really love in another group and would like to use them in Eclipse, FIRST acquire a fire-type bulbasaur in Eclipse (for example through hatching or breeding), THEN submit your design as a ref for them.
Trades and character ownership
Once a pokémon leaves your inventory, it is no longer yours. You cannot dictate what other people do with their pokémon, nor enforce any arbitrary rule on them (such as restricting what items can be used on them, or how they should be written).
Voiding characters
Trainer characters and pokémon can be voided (completely removed from the game) at any point, on request. You can request your characters be voided in the help desk.
You are not required to void your characters if you want to use them in other groups/personal projects.
Gmail addresses
You don’t need a Google account to play the game. But if you DO provide a Gmail on character creation:
- You can edit your own character sheets at any time (trainer info, pokémon bios, etc.)
- It saves us work, and we appreciate it!
Privacy tips:
- You can DM your Gmail to me if you don’t want it public.
- Use a burner Gmail, or one without your real name.
Birthdays
You are entitled to a nice surprise on your birthday. If you want to and are comfortable, you can request a birthday roll in the birthday thread when the day comes! (It’s ok if you missed it by a few days, we will never know.)
Game contributions
Player contributions to the game (such as seasonal adopts, fakemon contributions, official art etc.) are rewarded as outlined in the game balance document (found in guides ).
Before contributing, please keep in mind that that:
- Donated assets stay with us permanently.
- You cannot “take them back” (we cannot forcibly demand people void their characters!).
- You’ll always be credited for your contribution.
- We do not ask for exclusivity, and you retain rights to use your fakemon/adopt designs in other personal projects or ARPGs.
ART RULES
Do not steal
Do not try to pass off other people’s work as your own. Do not trace other people’s art.
When posting other people’s art, always credit them properly.
On-base art
The use of bases is allowed, but on-base art yields fewer experience. Properly disclose when your art is on-base, be it drawn over a 2D base, a posed 3D model, or over a meme/reference picture. Credit the base artist, if applicable.
AI-generated content
AI-generated art and writing cannot be submitted for in-game rewards.
This is a bannable offence. All art submitted should be made by you, not a machine. If you’re tempted to use AI to game the system, you’re missing the point entirely (and I will find you out and banish you to the shadow realm).
Being in the Eclipse server and playing the game means you have read and agree to the above rules. They may be edited at any point in time at a moderator’s discretion. Members will be notified when changes are made.
Breaking the rules may result in a verbal warning, formal warning, or a ban, depending on the severity of the offence. We will also waive the banhammer if the problematic behavior doesn’t change after several warnings.
If at any point you have any question, concern or problem, contact a moderator, either by pinging or DMing a moderator. I promise we don’t bite.
We are but a humble fan site
Eclipse is a pokémon-inspired fan project. We are not in any way affiliated with Nintendo, GameFreak, or the Pokémon Company.
The staff are all volunteers, running this on our free time. We do not profit from this project.
